Training Plans

Build training plans that bundle skills, assign them to agents, and track per-agent progress and quiz results. This article is automatically maintained (training-plans).

Overview

A Training Plan is how managers deliver structured learning to agents in Ender Turing. Each plan bundles one or more Skills — reusable learning units that can include EnderDrive documents, conversation playlists, and quizzes — and assigns the bundle to a chosen set of agents.

Once a plan is assigned, each agent sees it under Own Trainings, works through the linked skills, and takes any attached quizzes. Quiz attempts and scores roll back to the plan's Statistics view, where you can see at a glance who has passed, failed, or not yet attempted the quizzes in the plan. Progress on non-quiz materials — EnderDrive documents and conversation playlists inside the linked skills — is not tracked in this view, so for a plan whose skills contain no quizzes the Statistics tab still lists every assigned agent but reports each one with a score of 0 / 0, zero attempts, and Not started.

How It Works

Accessing Training Plans

Open Trainings from the main navigation, then select Training Plans. The page lists every plan as a large card, eight per page by default. Use the toggle at the top right to switch between Active and Archived plans, and the search box to filter the list by name or description.

To start a new plan, click + Create in the top right of the page.

Who Can Use Training Plans

Action

Who

See Training Plans in the navigation

Users with the Manage Trainings permission

Load the list of plans on this page

Users with both Manage Trainings and View Trainings — the page calls the trainings list API, which is gated by View Trainings

Create, edit, or archive a training plan

Users with the Manage Trainings permission

Assign arbitrary trainees to a plan from the agents picker

Users with Manage Trainings and an Agents view or manage permission (or Scheduled Chats manage) so the full agent list loads, and a Teams view/manage/own permission (or Scheduled Chats manage) so the team groups inside the picker load — without the agent permission the picker falls back to only the user's own linked agent, and without the teams permission the agent-groups call is rejected. Users from the All users group cannot be loaded at all without Manage Users

Any agent assigned to the plan, provided they also have View Own Trainings (to open the plan and its skills) and Progress Own Trainings (to start and submit the attached quizzes) — they reach the plan through Own Trainings, not from this page. To open non-quiz materials inside the linked skills, the learner additionally needs View Playlists for playlist items and view access to EnderDrive (plus Media Files view to download files) for EnderDrive items — without these, the skill's content cards render empty or unreachable.

Agents do not see the Training Plans section in the navigation. They only see the plans assigned to them, from their Own Trainings view.

What's on a Plan Card

Each plan card shows the information a manager needs at a glance:

  • Name and a short description (truncated to about 100 characters on the card).

  • Due date — the deadline you set for the plan, or No due date when none is set.

  • Assigned agents count — the number of agents who currently have this plan assigned to them.

  • Content / Statistics toggle inside the card — switches the body between the list of linked skills (Content) and a per-agent results table (Statistics).

Hover over a card to reveal the pencil icon used to edit it.

Creating a Training Plan

  1. From the Training Plans list, click + Create.

  2. A new editable card appears at the top of the page. Fill in:

    • Training plan name — the title agents will see.

    • Description — a short summary of what the training covers.

    • Due date — optional. Pick a date by which assigned agents should finish.

    • Assigned agents — open the picker (agents are grouped by team) and tick the trainees for this plan. Each selected agent becomes a trainee on the plan.

    • Active — leave it checked so the plan appears in the active list.

  3. In the body of the card, click Link a Skill to attach skills. The picker lists every skill in the library that already contains at least one item and is not yet linked. Tick the skills you want and confirm.

  4. Click Save.

The plan appears immediately in the Active list, and each assigned agent will see it under their Own Trainings view.

Editing a Plan or Changing Assignments

  1. Hover over a plan card in the list and click the pencil icon. The card switches into edit mode.

  2. Change any field — name, description, due date, assigned agents, Active flag, or linked skills.

  3. To link more skills while editing, click Link a Skill again. To unlink a skill, click the delete icon on its card in the Content area.

  4. Click Save to apply the changes, or Cancel to discard them.

Adding agents to Assigned agents creates new trainings for them so the plan shows up under their Own Trainings. Removing an agent from the list removes the plan from their workspace, as long as at least one other agent stays assigned. Editing the plan itself does not reset any progress an assigned agent has already made.

Archiving and Restoring a Plan

The Training Plans list does not include a delete button. To retire a plan, edit it and uncheck Active, then click Save. The plan disappears from the Active list and shows up under Archived at the top of the page. To bring it back, switch to Archived, edit the plan, re-check Active, and save.

Archiving keeps the plan and its history intact so you can still review past results. Archiving on its own does not remove the plan from assigned agents' Own Trainings — to take it back from individual agents, open the plan and remove them from Assigned agents, leaving at least one trainee on the list. Clearing the list entirely has no effect, so removing the plan from every assigned agent at once is not supported from this screen.

Linking Skills

A plan does not hold learning material directly — it points at one or more Skills, each of which can contain EnderDrive documents, playlists, and quizzes.

  • The skill picker only shows skills that already contain at least one item, so empty draft skills cannot be added by accident.

  • Linked skills are displayed as a card list in the Content view of the plan. From there you can open a skill (which jumps to its editor) or, while editing the plan, remove a skill from the list.

  • The same skill can be linked to many plans. Editing the skill itself updates every plan that uses it.

Tracking Agent Progress

On any plan card, switch the body toggle from Content to Statistics to see how the assigned agents are doing:

Column

What it shows

Agent

The trainee's name. The name links to the agent's summary page, but the link only works for users who also hold an Agents manage, view, or view-own-team permission (settings-scope) — users with only training permissions will land on an authorization error.

Score

The agent's score out of the maximum possible, across the plan's quizzes. When the plan has exactly one quiz, the score is a link to that quiz result; when it has several quizzes, an icon next to the score links to each one.

Result

Passed, Failed, or Not started, based on the quizzes the agent has actually attempted. For plans with several quizzes, this column reflects only the quizzes the agent has taken at least once — an agent who has passed every quiz they attempted but has not yet started the remaining quizzes can still appear as Passed, so use the Score and Attempts columns to confirm full coverage.

Attempts

How many times the agent has attempted the quizzes in the plan.

Each column header offers a sort control, and the table is paginated (10, 25, 50, or 100 rows per page). Only agents who are assigned to the plan appear in this view.

Tips and Caveats

  • Skills are shared, plans are not. Skills live in the library; a plan is a delivery vehicle. To deliver the same content to a different group of agents, create another plan that links to the same skills rather than duplicating the skills.

  • No delete button. Archive plans you no longer use. Archiving preserves their statistics for later reference.

  • One assignment list per plan. Agents are assigned to the plan as a whole, not to specific skills inside it. To deliver different skill subsets to different teams, build separate plans.

  • Search covers the plan name and description. It does not search inside linked skills, so name your plans with words your team will recognise.

  • Statistics only show assigned agents. Agents who were never assigned the plan do not appear on the Statistics tab, even if they have completed the underlying skills through another plan.

  • Empty skills are hidden from the picker. If you cannot find a skill when adding it to a plan, open the skill itself and make sure it contains at least one material, playlist, or quiz.
