Templates Library

Install ready-made bundles of charts, topics, tags, scorecards, and other analytics entities tailored to your industry. This article is automatically maintained (templates-library).

Overview

The Templates Library is a catalog of pre-built analytics packages. Each template bundles a working set of analytics building blocks — for example C-Level Boards, Charts, Topics, Tags, Scorecards, Funnels, Enders, and Prompts — that are designed to work together for a specific industry, such as finance, insurance, healthcare, or retail.

Instead of building these entities one by one, you install a template and the platform creates the included items for you. You can later upgrade an installed template to its newest version, or uninstall it to remove everything it created.

How It Works

Accessing the Templates Library

Open Analytics configuration → Templates Library from the main navigation. The landing view is a card grid of all available templates, with a row of industry filter chips at the top.

Who Can Use It

The Templates Library entry is only visible to users with the Manage analytics configuration permission. The same permission is required by the backend to view template details, install, upgrade, or uninstall a template, so users without it cannot perform these actions even if they reach the page through a direct link.

Browsing Templates

Each card shows the template's name, a short description, industry chips, and the current version. Cards behave as follows:

  • A green installed badge appears next to the version when you already have the latest version installed.

  • An amber Newer version available notice appears with the installed version number when an update is available.

  • Clicking an industry chip on a card narrows the list to that industry.

Use the Filter by industry chip row at the top to show only finance, insurance, healthcare, or retail templates, or All to clear the filter. When no templates match the active filter, the empty state offers a Clear filters button.

Viewing Template Details

Click Details on any card to open the full template page. The details page shows:

  • Description — what the template is for.

  • Version and Release date of the catalog version you are viewing.

  • Industries the template is recommended for.

  • What's new — the changelog for this version, when provided.

  • Contains — the full list of entities the template would create, each labeled with its type (for example C-Level Board, Charts, Category, Tag, Ender, Prompt, Scorecard, Funnel).

If the template is already installed and a newer version is available, the page also shows your Installed version and a Newer version available notice.

Installing a Template

You can start an install either from a template card (Install button) or from the template details page (Install button in the title bar).

  1. Open the template card or details page.

  2. Click Install.

  3. The Install Template confirmation dialog opens. Under What would be installed you see the list of top-level entities that will be created, each with its type. Scorecards in this list also bring in their own categories and points, which are created as part of the scorecard and are not listed individually in the preview.

  4. Click Install Template to confirm, or Cancel to back out.

When the install finishes, the template is marked as installed and the entities it bundles become available in their normal sections of the platform (Charts, Topics, Tags, and so on).

Upgrading an Installed Template

When the catalog has a newer version than the one you have installed, an Upgrade button appears on the template details page and a Newer version available notice appears on the card. To upgrade:

  1. Open the template details page for the newer version.

  2. Click Upgrade.

  3. The Upgrade Template confirmation dialog opens and shows the list under What would be upgraded (replaced).

  4. Click Upgrade Template to confirm.

An upgrade replaces the entities that were installed by the previous version of the template.

For a Gen AI topic that already has an active version, the upgrade updates the topic's name, description, and type from the template but keeps its active version and version history. No new AI-generated version is produced, so any tuning you did on the topic's workbench stays in effect. Topics without an active version are prepared in the background as usual. If such a topic is still being prepared and the upgrade would change its description or type, the upgrade is refused — try again once that preparation finishes.

Uninstalling a Template

To remove a template, open its details page and click Uninstall. A confirmation dialog warns:

Everything installed by this template will be removed.

Click Uninstall to remove the entities that the template created. Use this with care: anything the template installed — charts, topics, tags, scorecards, and so on — is removed from the platform.

Entities that are also used by another installed template are kept. For example, if two templates share the same tag, uninstalling one of them does not remove that tag — it stays in place for the other template that still depends on it.

What's Inside a Template

Templates can include any combination of the following entity types. Each appears in its normal section of the platform once installed:

Versions and Languages

Each template is published per language and per version. The library shows the templates available in your interface language. The details page lists the version and release date you are viewing, and indicates when a newer version is available for templates you already installed.

Things to Know

  • The Templates Library is only available to users with the Manage analytics configuration permission.

  • Installing a template creates real entities in your workspace — they show up alongside anything you built manually.

  • Uninstalling a template removes the entities it installed, except for any that are still used by another installed template. There is no per-entity uninstall from this view.

  • Upgrading a template replaces the previously installed entities with the newer version's content.
